Sponsor a Widow

Earn the same reward as someone who regularly prays at night and fasts during the day by sponsoring a widow.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The one who looks after and works for a widow and for a poor person is like ….. one who regularly prays at night and fasts during the day”. [Bukhari]

The life of a widow is hard no matter where she is from, but it becomes harder if there is no support circle around her. In developing countries, after losing their husband many women are left alone to fend for themselves and their children. Losing her husband i.e. the father of her children was hard enough, now she has the extra duties of providing food, clothes and education for her children. One day she is content that her husband is taking care of providing food, shelter, clothes and education for her children and she is taking care of the house; suddenly she has to take responsibility for everything.

Help Widows Living in Poverty

The cost of food, clothes, utilities and medicine has rocketed in recent years. These are all life’s essentials for anyone to survive. However, for many widows and their families, these essentials have become unaffordable. For them it has all about survival, one day at a time.

Widows Need Food

Whilst we prefer to provide financial support for widows and orphans to give them independence, sometimes all they need is a food parcel because they know this will help alleviate hardship.

Our food parcel will help provide a valuable lifeline for those affected by the trauma of losing the home’s breadwinner to disease or accident.

Unfortunately, many of these communities are so poor that they cannot support each other.

These food parcels help to relieve poverty and provide a lifeline for many widows and their orphaned children.
